TRAINING

To guarantee an adequate participation in the simulation of all the students involved, the Association, together with its own teaching staff and with the teachers of its Scientific Committee in cooperation with international diplomacy experts, organizes a specific 4-month training course, during which the students will be provided with all the training and expertise necessary to successfully participate in the Models.
The course plan is articulated to include the study and analysis of each single country being represented, of the rules of procedure and the necessary linguistic, technical and communicative skills.

The course includes 60 hours of face-to-face in class lessons and 70 hours of simulation.
All the various phases of the simulation are covered: from the drawing-up of the position paper to the preparation of the resolutions; from the individual speeches to the strategies to be adopted in the committees.

According to agreements reached with each university faculty and school, the students in the training course and who take part in the final simulation will be assigned the relative credits valid towards their university degrees and secondary school diplomas.
Upon completion of the simulation, each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation issued by the Consules Association and by the organizing body.

MUN PARTICIPATION

The participating Universities in the Project NMUN are:
University of Florence "Cesare Alfieri"; University of Rome “La Sapienza”; University Luiss “Guido Carli”; University of Rome “Roma Tre”; University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
All students over 18, regularly enrolled in one the Universities which have scheduled the NMUN and World MUN projects within their extra curricular activities, may apply to participate in the simulation.
The modalities of participation for each University are specified in the pamphlet.
In order to take part in the selection test, candidates must fill in the on-line application form specifying the name of their University and pay a fee of €10,00 for office fees.
On the day of the selection, each candidate must provide proof of enrolment in their University.

SELECTION TEST MUN

Students which fulfil all the formal requirements must sit a two-part test:

• A written English language test on the United Nations;
• An oral exam in English - held by a University lecturers commission which takes part in the project together with mother tongue teachers from the Consules Association’s Scientific Committee - aimed at evaluating the student’s linguistic abilities.

The assessment given by the examining commission is final.

The top ranked students - based on the availability assigned by the organizations for each project - will be eligible to take part in the simulation.
Students must also confirm their adhesion within 60 hours of being notified of their selection by Consules Association and pay the first fee, otherwise they will eliminated from the list.
